New Year’s Day brings a fresh new start to a brand new year to fill with new accomplishments and loving memories. It is a time for change and new beginnings! This makes the first day of a new year the perfect time for a wedding. There are many ways to make your New’s Year’s Wedding a day to remember.

A fun wedding ritual is to go with the “1” theme. Why not get married at 1:00 (a.m. or p.m.) on the 1st day of the 1st month of the year? You can continue the theme by giving out $1.00 bills as wedding favors or pennies as table garland. Have a fountain for the guest to make a wish and throw the pennies into with hopes and dreams included. Decorate with chalkboard, vintage window and wooden signs with such phrases as “Remember 1 + 1 = 2 and one is not the loneliest number anymore”, “You are the one!”, “You’re my one and only” and “I have found the one my soul loveth”.

Even if the “1” theme is something you want to go with, there are countless ways to make your wedding special. It is your day. You can make this wedding as elaborate or simple as you choose. Look to friends, magazines and online websites such as “Pinterest” for easy wedding ideas. Don’t stress and enjoy the ride. It is a special day of new beginnings and the first day of the rest of your life. What a wonderful way to start a new year!
