Getting remarried is exciting. It also means a second wedding will be in your future. Second weddings can be a lot of fun. For one thing, you can take this opportunity to do things differently than you had during your first wedding. Many couples choose to make their second wedding a smaller, more intimate and casual event. This can mean easy, and stress-free planning. But that’s not all. There are many ideas and tips that can help you plan your second wedding and leave the stresses and worries of wedding-planning behind.

Some other ideas for keeping your second wedding plans stress-free are:

Wedding location – Start looking early. If you are trying to plan your wedding at a popular location, you will want to make sure you get your event booked early. This will prevent you from having to scramble, last minute to book a hall, church, or other venue. The same applies for your reception.

Children – Chances are one or both of you have children if you are tying the knot for the second time. Keeping the plans from the kids can add stress to your planning. Talk to the children early and get them involved so they feel a part of the process, and make it a true, family affair.

Wedding attire – Second weddings don’t have to be lavish with a white gown and tails. If a more casual attire is less stressful, go for it. If you’re just not sure what you want, get ideas in bridal magazines, or plan a lunch date with friends to shop for your perfect look. Second opinions can relieve anxiety on planning your wedding attire.

Wedding gifts – Are you worried about how guests will feel about gifting at a second wedding? No worries. Registering for gifts is perfectly acceptable, even the second go ‘round. You won’t want to ask for crystal and china, but things you need as you meld your homes is understandable and acceptable.
